LBW Drinks sells cider to raise funds for the Donkey Sanctuary

Local drinks producer, Lyme Bay Winery, is donating 10p to The Donkey Sanctuary for every bottle sold to help raise vital funds while it is suffering from closure due to Covid.

Devon’s LBW Drinks is known for its internationally award-winning English wines, fruit wines, spirits, liqueurs, meads and, of course, cider. They created The Donkey Sanctuary Sparkling Cider for the charity last year to sell to their visitors. However, due to Covid restrictions they have had to close recently for the second time this year. LBW Drinks have stepped in to sell it directly to customers on their website and in their shop.

LBW Drinks’ cellar door shop remains open throughout lockdown. Based in Shute, near Axminster, the shop is open Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10.30am to 4.30pm. 10p from every bottle sold goes directly to The Donkey Sanctuary.

The cider is a traditional West Country Scrumpy, lightly sparkling, crisp and refreshing. Made from local apples it is sure to delight cider lovers.

Paul Sullivan, head of sales and marketing at LBW Drinks, commented: “We were delighted to make this cider for The Donkey Sanctuary last year and are so sad to see the effect the lockdown closures have had, we wanted to do what we could to help and so are selling it when they can’t. We’re sure our customers will love it!”
